While a credit card is a way to "pay later," a debit card is a way to "pay now" without having to carry cash. When you use a debit card, your money is quickly deducted from your checking account. Using a debit card instead of writing checks saves you from showing identification or giving out personal information at the time of the transaction.

At Mountain Community Bank we make banking simple as well as rewarding for you. Your Mountain Community Bank Debit Card is accepted at Visa merchants worldwide. There are no ATM fees by using any Mountain Community Bank, Carter County Bank, or Bank of Tennessee ATM.

Tips for responsible use of Debit/ATM cards
  • If your card is lost or stolen, notify us immediately. During business hours please call 543-2131. After business hours please call 800-500-1044.  
  • Hold on to your receipts from your debit card transactions. A thief may get your name and debit card number from a  receipt and order goods by mail or over the telephone. Your card does not have  to be missing in order for it to be misused.  
  • If you have a PIN number, memorize it. Do  not keep your PIN number with your card.  
  • Never give your PIN number to anyone.  Keep your PIN private.  
  • Keep an eye on your bank account and statements for any suspicious activity.
